MRT Hua Lamphong Station

Hua Lamphong Station is the initiate station of Bangkok MRT line, located on Rama 4 Road near the cross between Rong Muang and Mahapruetharam roads - right in front of Bangkok Railway Station which is also know as Hua Lamphong. The station is surrounded by the low-key residential area where is no shopping malls or tourist attractions.

  • Bangkok Railway Station : The national as well as the oldest train station of Thailand, started building in 1910 and finished in 1916. The station was built in an Italian Neo-Renaissance style, looks very similar to Frankfurt Central Station. It is the great place for those who love photography as the decoration of the station is classic and the life of people rushing in and out the station is charming enough to be taken through the lens.
  • Wat Traimit : A remarkable temple sits the world's largest solid golden seated Buddha image (around five meters tall), which was cast sometime in the reign of Sukhothai Dynasty (1249-1583). The gold statue wad been covered in plaster and lacquer for hundreds year until it was discovered later in 1955 when the relocation of the statue caused the plaster broken and revealed the real solid gold statue. At the present, this golden Buddha image sits in the new chapel of Wat Traimit and becomes the most interesting attraction in the area. Tourists are allowed to visit the temple and the statue every day at 8.00 AM - 5.00 PM. Admission fee is only 40 baht
